Major General Boles graduated from Niagara University and was commissioned in the United States Army in 1976.
In his thirty-three-year career he served in a variety of assignments. Since the terrorist attacks of 9-11 they included service as a Commanding General in the Army Industrial Base, the Deployed Army and the Training Base, preparing Soldiers in the Army’s largest branch (Ordnance) for deployment to combat operations in OIF & OEF. His final Army assignment was on the Army Staff in the Pentagon, where he oversaw Logistics Operations and Readiness to include the surges into Iraq and Afghanistan.
He has commanded Soldiers at every level and deployed multiple times. He refers to those Service Members as “National Treasures of the Nation”
Retiring in 2009, he established Vincent E. Boles, LLC–a leadership and logistics consulting practice–speaking and coaching executives and working with corporations and associations, on topics such as, MOBILIZING VS. Motivating Your Leaders and TEAMS, How a leader’s focus should be on their and their team’s “Best Getting Better”, and Leading and Leveraging the Links in Your Supply Chains. His audiences have included: Fidelity, IKEA, USAA, Alabama Power, and BAE Systems, to name a sample. He is a guest commentator on ESPN’s “Paul Finebaum Show” discussing leadership and relating it to the college athletic scene and has also appeared on CNN, FOX News, and America News Now.
In 2011 he was inducted in both the US Army Ordnance Corps and Niagara University ROTC Halls of Fame. A recipient of an MBA in Materiel Acquisition Management from Babson College, he was featured in their marketing campaign “Entrepreneurs of All Kinds”.
He is the author of 4-3-2-1 Leadership…What America’s Sons and Daughters Taught Me on the Road from 2nd Lieutenant to 2 Star General.
