W-A2 | The Impact of Leadership vs. Management: A Communication and Team Building Simulation

Every day we are tasked with communicating effectively across cultures with colleagues, students, vendors, and members of the general public. It can be difficult–but it doesn’t have to be. In this simulation demonstrating the impact of leadership vs. management, participants will work in groups and be provided with a set of directives to achieve common goals.

Participants will be asked to collaborate, share, and be open minded. The goal of the simulation is to help you gain an a better understanding of your leadership capabilities and find your personal approach to reflection and change. The session will include introspective conversations on how we talk to one another, work with one another, and our roles in group settings, as well as reflective exercises that highlight leadership and management techniques for future-forward consideration.

Participants in this session will:

• Identify methods for creating successful goals and objectives through communication.
• Reflect on their personal approach, role, and strengths working within a team atmosphere.
• Discuss change management strategies.
